I. Magnesium Sulfate Method

1. Preparation of magnesia slurry: Magnesium oxide powder and process water are mixed in proportion to produce a certain concentration of magnesium hydroxide slurry. The main reactions are as follows: MgO+H2O_Mg(OH)2

2. Absorption of SO 2: Magnesium hydroxide slurry is fed into the absorption reactor, and the slurry reacts with SO 2 in flue gas in reverse contact from top to bottom. The main reactions are as follows:


MgSO3+H2O+SO2_Mg(HSO 3)2

Mg(HSO 3)2+Mg(OH)2+4H_2O_2MgSO_3+3H_2O

3. OXIDATION: Forced oxidation is carried out in absorption tower or oxidation tower, more than 95% of magnesium sulfite will be oxidized to magnesium sulfate, and the final by-product of desulfurization will be discharged in the form of magnesium sulfate. The main reactions are as follows:MgSO3+1/2O2_MgSO4

4. Post-treatment: After the solution discharged from the oxidation tower is separated by the impurity removal equipment, the impurities are discarded in the form of slag cake. Magnesium sulfate solution is transparent, non-sticky and the impurity content is below 30 mg/L.
